Online schooling has been a controversy for some time now. I really dont understand why. I used to attend a traditional classroom enviromented school. I was so easily bored or distracted. With online I actually have to teach my self the work and I can do it at my own pace. I learn my way. People dont believe you can get the same one on one learning with online schooling but you can. You just have to apply your self and keep yourself involved and that is no different than being in a classroom enviroment. ALOT of us lead busy lives, and find its hard to make time to work and be a parent and go to school. Now we can come home start dinner, listen to a seminar, read our required work and so on and so forth, or if your as fortunate as me you can even do some at work!
I personally love the online learning way of things. Especially that I am Active Army. I was able to complete some classes overseas.

Tina,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. online classes are just likeregular classrooms in that you will get out of it whatever you put into it. Some people criticize this method saying yo cannot get the same education (meaning, not as good) as in a traditional campus setting because you can "cheat" by notreally learning th material, but simply looking up the answers. I say to that, what school did they attend where there were not those students that cheated and tricked their way through only to graduate not having learned much? It really is a persl decision and it requires a certain drive since there is no one setting a chedule for you. I also love the flexibility of it all.
Tina, Gail,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! I believe that online education is not for everyone, but for those of us that make it work to our advantage - we are much better people because of it. Online degrees are very nontraditional, but I believe that we are more creative thinkers than most campus driven students.
- We have to be more regimented.
- Seminars take up the majority of the
time.
- At the end of each week, somehow it all comes together.
- School is what we make it!
I could go on and on about the benefits to online schooling, but I know you are just as dedicated as I am - so there you have it.

Julie, great way to sum it up..."regimente", that's the word I needed to desribe what I was trying to say:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input Julie and gail. I know its been the best thing I have done and now with baby on the way I could see furthering my education is only going to get harder. But yes it is great for those who are go go or simply just prefers it.
